Don't know about the most.... but I just ordered one for our new offices... A 2 group La Marzocco Linea - with plent of help from 101SCC in sourcing and pricing - and I KNOW I got a great deal.

Still have not decided on grinders yet... leaning towards a Mazzer Kony Electronic....

For the record - I suggested to Wayne that he buy a good commercial grade super automatic - this will probably work better for him in that he does not need to have a "real" barista to drive it.

What he actually plans to do, I don't know... yet .... :)

I called them.

Great and helpful.

But alas, those all in one machines are out of my pricerange.

I have put myself on a waiting list for a decent reconditioned 2 group machine.

:(

To the guys in Pta East, have any of you dealt with Roast Master Cafe/Roastery? (http://www.roastmaster.co.za/index.htm)

I drove past an advertisement board on the gate of a house on Windsor Rd (not Windsor Ave that runs past Hot Spot Cycles. Here: -25.799577, 28.297615) in Garsfontein.

Don't know about the Pretoria branch, but the PE branch coffee I have tried died a horrible death - flavours went off after about 10 days.. Even my wife would not drink it in the super auto...

Buy a JURA, cost is about R10k for entry level ones, but it will be the last one you ever have to buy...

JURA is the way forward if you are looking for a decent bean to cup machine.

I want to get a coffee machine for the burger joint.

I came across this. I would appreciate your opinion or suggestion.

Thanks.

Random thought:

Unless a barrista is going to be on duty at the burger joint, why not have a Nespresso machine (or more if demand picks up) where it is easy to have a few flavours of pods available and can be served nearly instantly? I realise it's not a commercial machine but how many coffees are typically ordered with a burger -- maybe a milkshake maker !!!!

You can get Lavazza pod based espresso machines.... think you have to sign a contract to use their coffee/pods to get one.

Cecil Nurse the office furniture people brought Lavassa in a number of years ago. Basically you got the machine on contract and agreed to certain minimum number of pods per month depending on the machine size.

They gave it up after struggling for a few years with very poor support from Italy. Not sure what happened after that to Lavassa but I still see the machines around. I would look into support before going with Lavassa. Perhaps it has improved.
