Would it be considered rude...

...to mount a bell to your handlebars, for use in a race instead of shouting "track" or "passing on the right"?

Somebody rang their bell at me in the race the other day, I guessed it was normal practice.

I like it when other riders shout "trek", its almost the same as wearing a "power balance band" ;)

Just be careful of those pump weilding congestion types! Doubt they like any form of notification that someone faster intends coming by....

Have fitted one myself. Helps a lot on the road/trial and even races to help clear the wY ☺

Those bells are cute, bought one for my 6 yr old niece.

a bell won't have the right effect.you'll scare riders, sneaking up on them, and the opposite will happen instead of giving way, they'll swerve and end up right in front of you. All that's needed is a friendly call.
