Took a look @ mampara's video https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/109040-bearing-extraction-and-pressing-tool/page__hl__bearing__fromsearch__1

Had a similar idea.Only difference on mine is you cant see the outside bearing ring from the back of my rear triangle pivots & parts are curved on the outside too.

They in pretty good not budging.Bearings seem pretty toast, so could just push on middle ring, bearing will probably collapse tough, then im stuck with outering left in. -_-

Ty in advance - HubMeisters & guru's :D

I suggest take it to your LBS, they should have bearing removal tools.... I know it's a pain, but worth the hassle.

Because you need one of these...

This is def a get the right tool, do it right situation, don't try something because someone think it might also work, it's one of those "damm I should rather have" situations, followed by this is going to be expensive to fix.

Just push on the inner ring it will work. Have done that many times myself and that is what the lbs will do. There is no special tool to get that bearing out. Use a socket on the side you are pressing it from.

I found a giant bearing removal vid on youtube sometime back. Showed the guy's custom bearing puller in detail and his method. There were several vids from the same guy.

If you ever end up with a outer bearing stuck, use an arc welder and make a small weld on the inside of the bearing, only on one side, the outer race will then shrink there and it will then almost fall out, sounds rough but it works.

the bearing won't fail just knock it out from the other side.

You're over thinking it.

Ps: Give yourself a name, why all the secrecy are you David Craig or something?

Its a DUD frame i bought off some scammer on THEHUB,Has fatigue stress cracks on the welds.Want to RAW the frame so can get a better look @the cracks & decide from there.

Cracks are so small you need to push grease through to see the bubbles.

Could just be a p03s & sell it like him no 1 would notice  ,so ima bite the bullet and see if i can fix it

Your assussumption that the bearing will break up and then you sit with a stuck outer ring is possible. However, judging by the condition of those bearings I don't think it will happen. It happens on very vrot bearings with lots of rust. Those will come out easily. Give it a go. Knock carefully but firmly on opposite sides and make sure it doesn't drift out skew.

As for the welding trick - yes that works on big bearings but if you've ever tried to arc weld inside a 20mm tube like that of these bearings, you'll know that it is neigh impossible.

If we knew who you are and where you are based, I would have said come around, I'll sort it for you.
