Getting the cassette today, as Coolheat needed to get the cassette to the shop and couldn't deliver by the time I collected the rest of the stuff. From what I've felt though, the GX kit is BEAUTIFUL. Crisp shifts (it's all mounted apart from the cassette and chain) and a wonderful shifting action. The only reason I went shimano cassette is cos the XD driver for my hub would have pushed it slightly over budget. Plus there's no reason not to mix and match cassettes & chains with different shifting mechanics. SRAM reps even recommend it to keep cost down. Shimano have been building cassettes for a LOOOONG time. Cost wise the xt11 and gx seem about the same, can save a bit on a sunrace 11-42 cassette though so was thinking about getting one of those to go with it. What's the opinion on.on the praxis.Bent rings, essentially. Granted, it was only a couple of reports, but yeah. Praxis ring (was) brilliant, IMO. Light. Well made. Proper tooth spacing. Between the 2 though, I'd probably go Sunrace for the wider range. Not so sure how that "report" was due to abuse and / or bad maintenance. May also have been a bad batch or something. Not sure. I think that was the limit with the standard b-screw. I ran an 11 - 42T with an XT Medium cage and the standard screw. Did it clear... yesWould I recommend it... no. Why... because shifting was sluggish and got rather irritating. In fact, down-right crap! So if you're going to do a 10sp wide range cassette (even an 11 - 40T in my opinion), and you're not running a SRAM RD, then a RAD or RADr cage is needed to provide responsive, precise shifting.
