Collected the helmet from the PO today.

I'm impressed with the finish - quality seems the same as helmets costing a lot more.

Fit seems good - straps are easily adjustable and rear ratchet system is simple and effective.

Riding with it on Sunday and will let you know re comfort.

From me, to me.

Got a few rands yesterday from some peeps and used it with much excitement today.

Been on the hunt for a long time now.

They are super rare.

Marshall I was chatting to one of the Caves partners on a ride about this. He mentioned that Alan talks... Now that is cool!

Ive bought a brand new Eddy Merckx Alu Team. This is a timeless classic, this one was still built in the factory in Belgium, before Eddy sold the business. I am still contemplating a build, but I have a beautiful Record Ti seatpost and a nice 1" carbon fork. I will probably use a 10x Record gruppo also from the cupboard, but I am thinking about swapping the carbon levers for some older alu levers, and perhaps a silver bar and stem to complete a classic look.

Needs an alu fork.....

Very cool. How about some clear tape for that nasty cable rub?

Cable rub is the least of the worries. This 'bug's taken some serious abuse, it was handed down for his brother, and now the littlie rides it hard (green route at the local bike park). The bushes in the "headset" are worn, so there's some play in the headset. Can't find replacements (couldn't even find replacement grips, hence the Chunky's). Great little bikes though, teach them to balance, the transition to a pedal bike is easy from here.

Thanks for the feedback Ryan. I look forward to the ride test.

Ps. Ryan, how was the ride with the helmet?

So I headed out to Karkloof for a 50km jaunt in fairly hot weather.

I am very well pleased with my purchase. The fit is great, the helmet is light enough (as a enduro/ trail style helmet - compared it to the Fox Flux - it's slightly lighter) and has enough vents to keep you cool. Straps are easily adjusted to find a comfy fit and the ratchet sits comfortably at the back of the head to tighten everything up.

Let me know if there's any specific questions but in general I'm happy and would recommend one.

Awesome!! I'm glad to hear that! I was a bit skeptical buying one without putting it on my pip but after reading what you had to say and the rest of the interweb I am glad I got one. Now the waiting game...

Looks like I will be ordering one as well soon.
