Have run Fast Tracks (and a Renegade, Purgatory and a Ground Control) on the rear before, but would never go with a flimsier sidewall than their std control casings. All those ridden were the std Control sidewall, never cut them, only found that on the rear I would prefer a tyre with a stiffer sidewall or the Spaz tyres in the Grid sidewall .... I am a big boned rider and find that the std Spaze tyres squirm, or rather fold a little easy a low pressure, the Grids should improve this.

Spaz make decent marathon tyres.....just don't be a weight weenie, so no S-Verks sidewalls please.

but we are digressing here ..... this is the All Mountain Tyre Thread

Dit sou nice gewees het as hulle net so bietjie breër was though.

Jou Stumpy is 'n niner mos?

Just a thought... who is running what pressure on their Bronson / Wolverine combo?

Firstly, not all pump gauges were born equal so my 1.7bar may be your 2.1.

Secondly, dual or single ply sidewalls?

Thirdly, depends on your weight...

Fourthly, measured with my Birzman pump on dual ply casings. My 95kg heft enjoys 1.6 -1.7bar front and 1.8bar rear. ;)

So here is a pick of my Race king sitting on the rear. I got it in November '14 if i remember correctly, the previous one got slit open while riding over some debris in a veld (my fault). I haven't posted any pics of the X king (installed in October '14) on the front as it is still in mint condition.

You can see who the side wall is starting to go kaput, and the nylon reinforcement is starting to show more and more. The missing knobs I have no clue about. I have been riding Conti's for years and have never had the problem. As  I said previously, the LBS reckons its from road riding but I spend less time on tar now than before.

That's why you don't use XC tyres for AM or Enduro...

if it was road riding the central knobs would be smooth before the carcass starts wearing .... I think your lbs might be acting like a knob

Yah fair enough, I don't do a great deal of either, most of my riding is XC. I wont run these on the back again regardless .

just had delivery of my Nomad with a set or WTB vigalante's on, will give feedback once i have a few miles on them.

they look very similar to my HD's so am very interested to see how they handle by comparison.

Been enjoying my Vigilante on the front. Have the Beeline on the back, which rolls quite nicely, though I have cut the sidewall once

For sure... I wasn't asking what I should run it at I was just interested in what people were running theirs at. I know gauges differ but things will enevitably fall in to a reasonably near measurement else there wouldn't be gauges in the cycling world and sheets of calculations for shocks, tyres let alone car tyres that need gauges. ;)

I've got mine dialled in nicely but it's always interesting to see what other people run from the nearly flat to the rock hard. It's the thing that make so much difference to how your bike rides so was just seeing who did what.
