popcorn_skollie Posted August 28, 2015 Share Great review, thanks for taking the time. Are the Tmars and the Forca basically the same product or does one offer any advantage over the other? The forca and tmars are identical in specs. But i did some digging before i got the Tmars and Nick also confirmed they were different when i asked him the same question. Forca made some changes in the design. If you google search the images you will see a less obtrusive cable protrusion on the Forca. I also remember reading some changes made to the bushes used and also a better quality cable. It would seem then that the Forca is a revision of the Tmars. How much difference there is between the 2 in practice i cannot say. So far im happy with the Tmars. If i experience any issues regarding maintenance in the future. I'll post it here.
popcorn_skollie Posted August 28, 2015 Share I didn't even realise that there are so many different ones on the market.. Would be nice to see a list with makes/drop length/prices..Theres definitely a couple of them. Some of them completely different while others seem rebranded versions of the next. My gut tells me that in practice they all boil down to the same thing really. Raydek
Raydek Posted August 28, 2015 Share I am curious to see the difference between what I have now.. Been riding with a Reverb 125mm for about a year now, not one problem! (touch wood).  I have recently changed bikes though and now have a Giant 100mm post. At this stage I haven't noticed the loss of 25mm drop, but then again I have only ridden once with the new post and not a particularly gnarly trail. So that will be interesting to see. Otherwise in terms of action and lever etc, can't say that I would be able to tell the difference when out on the trail, other than looking at them. Time will tell wrt any possible problems arising with the new one. Martin PJ Posted August 28, 2015 Share I bring them in locally and hopefully will be able to build on this in the future. Let me know should you require any assistance with it. Can you get the service kit?

Its why i stress the point so much. Just because one dropper has more travel than the next doesn't necessarily mean more room to move around. The frame its on plays a huge role. BenGraham Posted August 28, 2015 Share Just bought a forca, its being processed right now. Thought they were out of stock locally since last time I checked I couldn't find them then this post popped up again and I went to check and they were available again. I try no to buy international if I can avoid it since the local shops need support. Keen to see what its like. I've got a 27.2 seattube so my options are limited and the ks Lev as nice as it seems just seemed to much to spend. So exited now. Just in time for the next Hakahana enduro. BenGraham Posted August 28, 2015 Share Where did you find one? http://cyclefactory.co.za/product-category/forca-dropper-post/ No indication as to stock levels but you could probably email them and ask. I waited too long last time and didn't want to be caught out this time.

splat Posted September 2, 2015 Share FSA is getting into the mix as well: http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/fsa-unveils-prototype-gravity-dropper-seapost-45152/ The FSA dropper will come in 100 and 125mm version in both 30.9 and 31.6mm diameters. It incorporates FSA’s existing two-bolt saddle rail clamp and uses a rebuildable cartridge system and a cable-actuated lever. It is expected to retail for $299http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.imdserve.com/images/news/2015/09/01/1441144336991-2o34ukkukhif-700-80.jpg http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.imdserve.com/images/news/2015/09/01/1441144620990-1s1kgjahyjxud-700-80.jpg http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.imdserve.com/images/news/2015/09/01/1441144827175-awd5kp82vm9y-700-80.jpg popcorn_skollie

RockCoach Posted September 4, 2015 Share Not quite a complete Kind Shock list:KS do a couple of cheaper posts: Dropzone, Supernatural and Lev DX.Also an error because Lev also does a 27.2mm post.

RockCoach Posted November 1, 2015 Share As they become more popular there will be more of them changing hands just like any other component. Skylark
