A fun new aluminium 29er trail frame, learning from what weve done over the last ten years.

On-one may have started out as a company making steel singlespeed bikes, but aluminium has figured in our history for a long time too. Indeed, the frame that launched our parent company into the big time was the Planet X Jack Flash an alloy dirt jump hardtail and, with us always looking back as well as forwards, everything weve learnt along the way helps us to bring you this frame today.

The Parkwood's geometry is taken from our work with the Titus Fireline Evo29. A cool, fun trail hardtail that weve been selling for a year or so now, bringing hooligan fun to the woods. Weve taken that exact same geometry to this model, but made it in alloy.

The geometry isn't the only feature that the Parkwood has borrowed from its more expensive older brother. Formed main tubes and a tapered headset have made it across too but it's not just a direct copy and this time were pushing things on An integrated headset makes for a cleaner, lower front end. A curved seat tube and HDM front mech makes for better front mech clearance. We keep the formed top tube to lower standover height.

Weve also done some amazing development work with build quality, which youll notice on the main triangle head tube welds. Our extended weld beads increase fatigue resistance, meaning our frame can be lighter and last longer than conventionally welded models.

An assymetric yoked chainstay offers huge tyre and chainring clearance. Its a simple, neat solution to an area of the bike that can get cramped. The bottom bracket shell is 68mm wide to allow compatibility a wide range of crankset options: from an ISCG 05 chainguide to older 3x9 chainsets, as well as modern 2x10 or 1x11 systems.

Weighing in at 4.2lb (1900g), rated trail tough for 120mm suspension forks and passing all the EN 14766 tests with ease, this is a solid performing frameset at an amazing price. And the fun doesnt stop there: two decal options (orange or green) are available on a flat almost-black frame. The frame comes in three sizes S, M, L.

With complete bike options from 999.99 too, we think this is the funnest, best-value 29er hardtail on the market.

  • Alloy 29er trail frame developed from the Titus Fireline Evo29
  • Integrated tapered headset for a clean, low front end
  • High-quality extended welds
  • Optimised for 120mm suspension forks
