That race was fantastic to watch. A touch sad Burry didn't medal but wow he made that race what it was, and it was awesome to see him mixing it up. All I know is that the pace and effort levels really brought home how killer these guys are. For me, that was the best cycling event of the whole Olympics.

Burry coming 5th was an immense achievement, we can be proud.

I agree especially after reading how "over the moon" the yanks are about their best ever result in olympic mtb; 10th and 15th. So Burry was on his own with a fraction of the USA budget and he was up front making a race of it, kudos to him. :thumbup:

174m climbing........ 300 odd total ascent and descent

 

So that adds up to 2100 odd ascent for the 30 odd km. .........Done in 1h30 .

 

They made it look much easier. :mellow:

surprisingly little said about phillip buys, great ride from him to comeback after that wipeout.

where are the wipeout videos?!

i think burry's budget is pretty big? surely being on the spesh racing team is the ultimate, who cares if sascoc isn't funding it?

Damn Burry, Is a good ambassador for the sport. Nice interview. He has come a long since the Dirty Hippo days. I think there is a local MTB pro that rues the day and comments he made.
