Zook Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 That race was fantastic to watch. A touch sad Burry didn't medal but wow he made that race what it was, and it was awesome to see him mixing it up. All I know is that the pace and effort levels really brought home how killer these guys are. For me, that was the best cycling event of the whole Olympics.
Trubie Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 maybe Burry would have done better if he didnt use USN *WINK WINK*
NotSoBigBen Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 maybe Burry would have done better if he didnt use USN *WINK WINK*Â Now I'm getting my popcorn
Tumbleweed Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Now I'm getting my popcorn  Which popcorn is best for post-ride recovery…?
Agteros Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012  Which popcorn is best for post-ride recovery…?Salted, it helps with a well timed cough *cough* *cough* Do I need syrup now?
'Dale Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Wonder what the average Heart Rate was of the top finishers? That work rate was hectic.
ThaStig Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Burry coming 5th was an immense achievement, we can be proud.I agree especially after reading how "over the moon" the yanks are about their best ever result in olympic mtb; 10th and 15th. So Burry was on his own with a fraction of the USA budget and he was up front making a race of it, kudos to him.
Mads Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 174m climbing........ 300 odd total ascent and descent So that adds up to 2100 odd ascent for the 30 odd km. .........Done in 1h30 . They made it look much easier.
Shebeen Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 surprisingly little said about phillip buys, great ride from him to comeback after that wipeout.where are the wipeout videos?! I agree especially after reading how "over the moon" the yanks are about their best ever result in olympic mtb; 10th and 15th. jannosmit Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 So SASCOC gave cheques out this morning at the airport to the athletes. R400k for Gold, R200k for Silver. Dunno what bronze got.

Dicky DQ Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Damn Burry, Is a good ambassador for the sport. Nice interview. He has come a long since the Dirty Hippo days. I think there is a local MTB pro that rues the day and comments he made. +1
Brian Fantana Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Haha, after the race on Sunday I remember seeing that Kulhavey only had 1 vote in the poll, now he has 10 votes. Something tells me that some people don't understand the word, prediction. Wyatt Earp 1
