How does having hot foot = Brilliant shoes....???!

I have the Sidi Ergo Carbon, brilliant shoe, comfortable, light, stiff and keeps feet cool.

I also have a Pair of Specialized Body Geometry Carbon Pro in Orange, silver and white ( no you can;t get them locally) and I find these to be comfy but not to the same std as the Sidi.

Sidi rules,

I'd rate Shimano shoes as a close 2nd with Specialized 3rd in terms of fit, weight and cost.

DMT are expensive for what you get. Carnac is also brilliant but rare as ducks teeth.

sidi is a great shoe and fits me like a glove,

but for me the inner sole is to thin, bought a pair of green cross inners and it feels much better now.

i had diadora and olympics before, and although the olympics do not have the "name", its not a bad shoe at all.

Sidis....no experience.  Bling ++.

DMT........very stiff.......very hard to wear in.  Did I mention stiff?! Soles are awesome.

Northwave.....very comfy.  I have two pairs.  Very bling

SPecialized.....no experience but the guys only talk well of them.  Comfy

Nike.......very nice.  had a pair for 2 years.  Sole cracked. (No crash)

Shimano.....have a pair that has endured 4 years of spinning and MTB'ing.....cool shoes. Comfy.

Time.......  Same as DMT.  Has the sam sole.  Not sure how comfy they are but it is known that are narrow.

Hope that helps....

I just bought SIDI Genius 6.6 full carbons sole, I also own Shimano MTB shoes. You cannot compare. The sidi just fit so well and comfortable. Also my last SIDI's lasted 9 years including 2 big crashes where they got damaged but were still able to ride with them for a number of years. they have now been relegated to the training bike and i bet will last another 10 years. So i justified the cost like this. Price of the new shoes / years of use (approx. 10) / times I ride per year = R 1.15 per ride. ie i spend mor emoney on coffee with each ride than i do on my SIDI's (the wife fully agreed with that analagy) visit chainreactioncycles.com for good online prices

I'll also put a vote in for Specialized. I have a pair of the s-works ones and I'm quite comfortable, even on long rides. A bit more expensive than my shimano Sh-225's, but cheap when compared to some flashier brands.

Having said that, I also have an old pair of Diadoras that I use on my commute to work and they must be the best money I've ever spent on cycling equipment. They are ancient, but just keep going.

Sidi....8yrs on my first set of Technos(MTB)

Currently 3yrs into my Action S.R.S.

Have owned Diadora and tried Shimano. Diadoras died when the cleat ripped out of the sole. Neither were a match i.t.o. comfort.

But as mentioned, shoes are a personal thing

GoLefty, you didn't read properly. I said NEVER give me "Hot Feet" (although it may be advantageous for anyone cycling in Alaska if it were the case LOL)
