I hear you , but its just to bring the shine back after use with turps , dont go rub the crap out of it because then it will rub it down. i have buffed many a bike to show room condition no problem .

Yea my problem is I have a matt lacquer on my bike.... so some times you need some creamy peanut butter : )

Flight hand cleaner.

Smear it on thick, leave for half an hour, wipe off with a rag and then rinse with water.

No damage to paint, easy, quick.

You get bespoke tar removers too - I think mine is a McGuires product. Worked like a charm when I had tar all over my bonnet!

Tar on your bonnet? Keep the wheel side down man!

Should work. Acetone dissolves butyl and asphalt quite well.

I can literally get to the trail from my place using just 50m of tar but I find it best to carry my bike to the dirt.

+1 for Petrol. Use it to remove tar from my car and motorcycle, works like a charm with little effort required.

Burnishing compounf from auto shops. Its what they use to polish up cars after spraying.

Tip I got from a panelbeater to get tar off my car: Use an old orange bag (the net kind). With a little soapy water it removes it choppers and doesn't damage the paint.
