As for USN products.....you okes are being fooled :P.

I use USN recover max when I do rides of 4 hrs +. Its all about carb to protein ratio. Might not be the best product out there but it definitely works for me and its YUMMY!

My secret recovery smoothie...... 2 scoops chocolate recover max, 1 table spoon plain yogurt, 1 table spoon crunch peanut butter, 1 x banana, 1 scoop glutamine, and a tray of ice. = Y-U-M!!!

Steristumpie. Any flavour.

Check the ingredients on the back of a Nesquik pack and you'll see a lot of similarities to all the other concoctions we throw down our throats.

Compared it to the Powerbar recovery product and was surprised how close they are. Not in price though.

I take Hammer Recoverite after long sessions (+3 hrs). I may even add 1 scoop of whey protein. I would suppose most brands are similar. I have found that when I take it immediatelly afer exercise, followed by a healthy meal or snack within an hour, that it curbs the lust for binge eating later in the day, in addition to all the other advantages.

My vote goes for the peanut butter / honey sandwhich closely followed by a simple chocolate milk drink.

KISS

300ml water, 4-6 teaspoons of white refined sugar, lemon juice - stir and drink...works a treat in the absence of Recovermax and peanut butter sarmies!

You get quite a few brands that do glutamine powder. Any dis chem stocks it. I use USN or Solal or Biogen. It's a fairly uncomplicated compound, so almost any brand will do I suppose.

Eish......not sure about the refined white sugar?

Agreed. In fact I have tried cutting out refined sugar as far as possible. Not easy because so much of our daily food intake includes refined sugar. What I can say is that since I have done this my energy levels on the bike have improved and I dont have as dramatic troughs and peaks on rides. Energy levels are much more consistent.

Yip....that sums my usual up as well...... Just not the chocolate one....Strawberry goes better with the banana.

USN amongst others makes yes......Called L-Glutamine. One tub lasts me about a year!

With you on this. On race day I'll add a teaspoon of brown sugar to my coffee, not that it gives me loads of energy but I quite like the taste.

After the Magalies Monster in 2009 i was introduced to this special recovery shake. I was wasted after all the dust and technical descents and a mate of mine said i should try it and vouched that within 30 minutes i will be feeling like a champ!

Took a sip of the concoction and it tasted a bit funny, but he advised me that it takes some getting used to.

So waar soos pap snoek- within 20 minutes i was feeling great again and went for another one, the feeling just got better....

So- three years later i am still a fan and will never use anything else. After some market research i found that it is distributed by Brandhouse and you can buy this recovery drink in 4 packs.

It retails for about R55 at any respectable supply store, but i do prever it on tap...

We have been looking at this side of the market for a while now - seeking something to specifically to the needs of cyclists.

I was made by cyclists for cyclists. Only the best and healthiest ingredients will do.

We have our Recovery Booster ready and waiting but we have decide to keep that launch official back a few week to co-inside with the release of our 3rd flavor on the Marathon racing fuel.

It has been developed with the help of a Pro Mountain biker - that shall remain un-named for now - as he has just moved sponsors and we are still in negotiation with him and his sponsor to sign him on as the official face of our products.

We have sent some sample off to randomly selected Hubbers for review and we will also have a Hubber special upon the official launch.

All the info is available on the website and orders can also be placed.

Check it out at :

If anyone has any questions or needs any other info - feel free to contact me at vinceATsingletrackfuelDOTcom

Its still a little on the down low un till the official launch but this thead just can not be ingnored.
