this looks like its gonna make dagga pad and concrete road look like childs play

Coming back up from the shebeen can have a few have "little" moments, but do not dwell on it.

Good for HTFU, as there is only one way to the top: Self propulsion! From the top to the finish is generally down hill ;)

All hail Queen Bree!

Hey Nance! That sounds brilliant. Might even get me off my road bike as well!. If this is from where I think it is, I might even bring soap and towel along!

Footnote: Never let it be said that I hoodwink you into these hub rides over hallowed ground!

:D :D :D

It's been a while, and the last Hub rides we hosted were well 'received'.....

I will start a new thread under the Group Ride section soon..... but please be patient, I have some work to do first. I'll post a link to this thread as soon as I've gotten around to it!

ps: everyone CAN expect clean toilets and showers at this ride....... maybe even a dip in the pool ;)

Out of interest - how do most of you ride when you do Breedt's? When we get to the shebeen we continue up to the tar road, turn right and then take the first left onto a dirt road. We carry over the two climbs and down the other side until you eventually get to a T-junction with another tar road (42km from the start) Then we just u-turn for a 84k ride.

It would be nice to turn it into a bit of a loop rather than a straight out and back ride.

most people, like us, just go up and over and back. Was wondering myself whether there is another way back.

Great to hear about the new parking spot. I'm more than willing to support a guy like that.

How about I put a Hub Group ride together for that weekend?

Depending on the size of the group and general consensus, we can break it up into varying distances ie

venue to the top of the climb and back (+-58kms)

venue to the shebeen and back (+-68kms)

and then there are various longer options ranging from 80 to 100kms

something for everyone

Oh my dearest MtbBarbie, I am neither fit nor strong enough to keep up with your group. :D

Thanks for the feedback. I believe that if the farmers in the area are saying to be alert then it's not a bad idea to be in a group.

When are you planning on riding there? Are you going to go to the top and back or go over the nek and back.

Let me know what your plans are and what avrg speed you reckon you will be doing.

I was thinking of riding there on Saturday
