Two guys got into it and the one used his helmet to hit the other guy. Another tried to stop it and he also got a helmet to the head. The oke literally broke his helmet in pieces on the other okes. Dont know what started it though.

One chap stood on the others sunnies and broke them, obviously words to and fro about who's fault it was and then some extra decided to get involved out of the blue and started swinging his helmet into the one chaps head. Naturally he retaliated with his helmet! It's no longer handbags at 10 paces, but helmets at 2.....

Was a cool ride, started in P with my folks and ended pulling the group along the last 20km, then all of a sudden from the circle everyone had legs :P Lots of fun and even won a prize or two!

For the two guys that had the helmet bashing, they should be made to ride tandem with one another at each event and start with the temp seeding!

Well done to the organizers, amazing event.

saw bits of helmet flyin off the one okes head in all directions. i wonder if the warranty will cover the broken helmet.

Pity there's no Youtube footage of the helmet fight. And it wasn't even Dangle and TNT1!

Somewhere around Koeberg there was an incident with an ambulance - anyone know what it was? I try not to rubber-neck but rather get outta the way.

Then a little further there was another coming-together: some kid obviously screwed up his back wheel, so there he is, swinging his frame and wheel out into the traffic at every passing bakkie, 4X4, and bicycle. At least one of the other "accidentees" chewed him out.

Longer route joining the shorter. I have to say, some busses pass as close as a Golden Arrow. The mid and back pack aren't looking far enough ahead and, when I'm overtaken (as frequently happens), the okes come past so close they almost force you off the road. More than once today, I also had guys swing in v-e-r-y close ahead; they could've easily clipped my front wheel.

What got me through the last windy k's: the thought of a cigarette and coffee (prettty ropey stuff served at the end though), a lovely hot bath, and a looooooong nap.

Hope you guys all had good races.

I had a bit of a crap race...started way to hard, chasing a break down, following on a few....as we went up the climb a guy dropped his chain, caused us to miss the bunch as we voided it when braking, just could not find the legs to chase them in again as it was so close....waited until Tiny K came past and we worked together until the finish....like they say, you can't have a good race every weekend, so hopefully this was my only one...back to the drawing board...

We were nailing it at the start tho, nice fast pace....but that wind back was tough....and huge congrats to David Garret who won with a solo break away the last 15km showing the wind how it is done.

Good event Outriders. Nice.

Decent ride today. Better than I thought after the first 15km's when the over eager pace really started to hurt. Came good and got back with a 1.50 odd. Has to be said some of the riding I saw out there today was atrocious. Guys flying up the left of the bunch almost cleaning up slower riders with out a care and what doesn't sink in about having a motor bike driving next to you telling you repeatedly not to ride over the white line.

Only really downer was my buddy got cleaned up by a young guy getting into trouble and an older guy turning around to look at the incident and wipe him out while on the fast part under the bridge at Atlantis. Helmet cracked in two, roasties all over and about 15 mins on the deck. Bike and new wheels okay though. Poor guy had to solo the entire old road home into the wind and was so broken that he forgot to miss out the timing mat so to add to insult to the injury he's got a shocking result first off.

Snip snip

Don't know if it was / is the same incident, but one of our fellow Hubbers is in hospital after falling and hurting his shoulder very badly.

Heal well and quickly, Colliehond.
