After the mudfest of this weekend's 24hr, absolutely even more entrenched on the Shimano SPD.

XT all the way, bombproof and straightforward. Safe to say that generally the only spares and rebuild you'll ever need are spare cleats.

I have read great reviews on the XT pedal. Must say that currently they are ahead in the favourite department. Thanks for that review Dassie man!

The exact same problem. In the end , settled for XT's. And I don't regret the choice! Believe me I googled look qaurtz Vs shimano xt's Vs Time atacs everyday.

I had beaters. Bought the Look pedals. Im sold. Ill sell my mtb but never my pedals. Love them.

Welcome to the family! There is actually no contest. If 90% of the Pro's (In SA anyway) are on LOOK's...it must say something. whistling.gif

I have ridden a lot with all 3. I favour the Times for their ease of use in mud and bulletproofness. I was not a fan of the shims on the Looks. Shimano are good, reliable and simple to use. You would however not go wrong with either of the 3.

If one had to go for the look quartz MTB pedal, is it worth paying the R500 extra for the Quartz carbon?
