1hill, I have had the same problem.  Solution, more training and 2 cramp stops every 30-45 minutes.

O ja, and I've been forced to spin!

I use sports salts from Enduren;  Used the USN stuff as well, but thats a total waste of money...for me.  Now I am on a homeopathic combination of calcium, sodium, potssium, iron phosphate.  No cramping what so ever.  Some of my friend are also on it now with possitive results.  R75 for 300 tablets

Anybody else tried this miracle cure before ?

Saw a fairly large individual cramping the one year at the Amashova on a climb so blady he literally fell over onto the sidewalk - another rider stopped, handed him two Rennies.  I didn't see him again until the end of the race.  I finished the race awhile already and the individual that had been cramping finished the race - legs intact!! So I guess the Rennies do work..Clap

1H, pity you couldn't ride back with us yesterday...

75Km in 2:29 (included a puncture stop and 1 rehydration stop)

Total average for 178Km (including the race @ 2:24) = 36.45km/h.

Great fun!!

I used to cramp a lot, then someone told me that I trained at 28 -30KM per hour but want to race at 38 -40 KM.  You need to train at the intensity that you plan to race.  Ever since I have up the intensity, I have not experiance Cramps any more.

conditioning might work for some, but some people just cramp more because of various other problems that we cannot pinpoint.

I used to cramp even when going slow on a training ride. I couldnt work that one out either.

So again I say it depends totally on the individual and what they eat and drink or maybe don't eat and drink.
