OK, so the bullet was bit. One medium Pipedream Skookum Ti with sliding dropouts and 44mm headtube on its way. Should arrive just before Christmas.

So far, Pipedream has been on the ball, responding to emails quickly and efficiently.

Had some other items arrive today, so will post pictures tonight.

I rode a mate's bike (Crow's Mojo SLR) with the big brother of that saddle - the Selle Italia SLR Superflow. Man, what a saddle. But huuuuugely expensive at R 1,800! Yoh!

SLR flow is the only saddle I'll ride. I've had SLR Gel Flow, SLR Kit Carbonio Flow, the precious SLR XC Flow and now this one. Awesome saddles, even for long days.

Some more arrivals for this build

Looks good - I like the black crank - I have an identical one - the only issue with it is that it will not fit a 32 chainring without the chain touching the arms - 33 and 34 are ok.

ITO front fork - there are some nice carbon ones available locally for a lot less than anything mentioned in this thread - I ride one, and my training partner got his this week - for about 1/3 the price of a pot of my favorite grease.. :)

Sweet ride... Why Pipedream? Any specific reason - or just through trawling the webs looking for niche bike companies?

Please keep us posted with the build!! thumbup1.gif

Why Pipedream? Don't know? Saw their bikes, liked the look and the fast response to my questions.

Finally, a bit of an update: Frame left the Netherlands yesterday, so I should have it in my sticky paws by the end of the weekclap.gif clap.gif clap.gif clap.gif clap.gif

2013 Ritchey carbon fork is also due in January.

Only question is, what finishing kit? If I go Thomson stem and seatpost, what bar do I get? Otherwise, Ritchey WCS 10D alloy bar in 700mm with WCS alloy stem and seatpost?

Why not add a Thomson bar?...

Why not add a Thomson bar?...

I'm a bit wary, new product from Thomson, not their usual material. Was possibly thinking about the Crank Brothers Cobalt 3 bar, stem and seat post as an alternative.

I guess, im waiting for mine. Figured it'll still be Thomson quality. If you not keen on the Thomson bar I'd go for the Crank Brothers kit. That unique frame shouldn't have Ritchey parts on (they're everywhere) - IMO. Keep us updated with PICS :)
