Think Im getting off the Enduro train... It is just a money making scheme, like 29'ers, we all know deep inside, enduro is was just the average joe's MTB'ing, before it was given a name... A market bracket was discovered and now exploited.

But not complaining, the tech that cam from all this market investment is sweet, the normal average joe like me would've never have been able to afford long travel single crowns, twin piston brakes or Narrow wide chainrings, if it wasn't so popularized (economy of mass production).

Peace:)

I understand your post 100%.

People keep talking about the spirit of Enduro etc. I think Enduro is becoming too competitive, last year in the EWS riders were cutting corners (literally), breaking shuttling rules, helmet rules etc.

The true spirit of Enduro is an awesome day of trail riding with your friends.

If you watch Klunkerz, you will see some of their races like Appetite Seminar and Repack. 1st prize was a bag of weed and they had a keg of beer at the finish which was kept cold with snow collected the day before.

That is what Enduro racing should be like.

I'm quietly having a laugh at the frenzy around this word.. I see even the event name of enduro is used so loosely that people even want to name trails after it, as if all mountain never existed..

Cant Agree more - the term "Enduro" should only be used to define an Event with staged timing ... if you are going for a ride in the mountains its a mountain bike ride ... or if you want an "all mountain" ride ...

Catch phrases come in so quickly and get used to make Joe Soap and his product look cool and sound trendy ..

Thats why what we did in Lesotho this last weekend was dubbed "RAD Ride" ... as i wanted to shy away from the current industry norm.

You are only Enduro if you wear Goggles with a XC helmet ... or a Fullface with Sunglasses ...

Needless to say ...

DaveD is full Enduro on his Yeti SB66... hahaha

Dude....we were so Epically XC marathon Eduro this morning to and on the mountain.

Oh, did I mention that I have a rather fun little 130mm travel 650B to ride this week and that her first ride out was on the mountain this morning?

Went into my LBS this morning and saw that they stock the Enduro Comp. I was quite surprised since I thought Spez was only bringing in the carbon ones.

At R45k I think it's still a bit pricey, but I suppose if you negotiate hard you can get it for R42k with a dropper post and some spares chucked in.

Still runs the brilliant Pike up front and then quite a fat stanchioned Fox CTD shock (instead of the awesome Cane Creek). X7/X9 2x10 gearing with Formula C1 stopping.

I must say though, it's a great looking bike. Prettier than the carbon ones by far!
