Anyone here purchase stuff from Xiamen Carbonal Composite technology? they have a rather nice full suspension 27.5 reasonably price. Any feedback would be appreciated

There was a build thread by Izak(I think) who built up a chinese 27,5 DS. Gave it a glowing review.

What is the deal with insuring a china......? how do you value it come an accident or fall for insurance claim purposes?

Just like you do with any other bike. Be honest, and insure it's replacement value.

It is from earlier in this thread if I recall.

Unfortunately you will need to start searching or drop Izak a PM.

no worries, but how do you prove the replacement value come claim time. the reason I asked is I just had to claim and I had to get quotes from bike shops. Now there is no one to give an "independent" valuation. do they take my word for it at claim time?

Any decent LBS will be able to give you a replacement value, even if it is a Chinese frame.

You could always get a replacement quote from Hongfu, or whoever, when you needed to claim and submit this to the LBS for costing. The LBS can just submit a report on the damage and need for replacement.

As the guys said, just use the replacement value of everything. Although I spent only around 36k I insured for replacement / new parts including the cost (including shipping etc.) of the frame , which came in around 58k.

It was sort of a "Hub" build as I bought almost all the components off here, except for frame and wheels ;)

With regards to iCan Bikes http://www.icanbikes.com/ speak to Crystal (read Ming Yong warra warray ;) ) crystal@icanbikes.com

The frame has gone through some serious riding and racing this year and (touch wood) has performed extremely well and taken me to a few podiums even ;)

One bit of advice, get through axles like I did, makes the world of difference in my opinion. Also order extra dropouts, headset and the actual axles as they are a b... to get here.

If you get stuck though pop me a message and I'll try and help where iCan ;)

Yo

If someone asks what is in the box when fetching it say wheels, not clothes. Clothes has a mad import duty.

You need to take the original invoice with you.

I had my second last parcel opened by them as it felt "too light" to be cycling components.

So they might make you open the package, and if it's NOT what you said it is you're in SERIOUS ***

Very easy....

iCan delivers straight to your office/residence.

get them to give you two invoices and use the cheapest one's value for the import value ;)

Not that I did that....obviously (rolleyes)
