Well that settles the matter. Motion denied.

It still seems like an unsolved engineering problem to me.

Ja agree. Don't stress tho. Someone is going to come up with something that works and looks cool very soon. The market is too big to be ignored.

All it would really take is a few more vents in existing DH lids. My Airoh is close I think. It's got HUGE vents which can be closed if it rains and the chin piece foam is removable.

I somehow thought this wasn't going to go down well with the purists!

AFAIK the MET Parachute had a problem with the chin guard breaking off and possibly causing more problems than they stop.

This one might be the same. It all depends on how strong the actual join is

Still going to be rolling with a good old XC helmet for a while, and normal XC shoes. Will change as the need arises

are there any goggles that will allow me to wear my spectacles in them, or have the lenses changed to prescriptions?

Depending on the frame of your glasses, I have found that most goggles can be worn over them.

As for optical inserts, the Adidas iD2s come with that option, but they're not cheap (about R1800 without inserts).

Honestly though... contact lenses. If your eyes are able to handle them, get contacts. Way better than wearing any form of prescription glasses the trail.

My old 661 knee pads became my weekly landscape architects gardening pads, after i tossed them and he decided to clean and make look brand new

I decided to use my paintball knee pads as dont play much anymore....... Pretty good on the bike, dont slip as they made for diving..

I just got a demo set of G-form (I think thats what its called) elbow pads. They soft foam things that apparently go hard on impact. Look and feel cool must now see how they work.

I wish I could get contacts to fit into my eyes, its a real mission, had them once, never tried again

Anybody had any real world experience with these? Can't find a lot of info on the Kenny helmets but they look pretty sweet:

Just need to check the kenny has removable wick lining and the quality of the lining can be the only difference
