I assume health shops or dischem will have at least almond flour. I'm guessing it's much cheaper to grind your own if you have the facilites though (although won't be quite as flour-like).

Think I'll stick to fresh rather

On that note, I did some reading on Mark's Daily Apple today for the first time. So everyone knows that he states that you need to eat like Grok did (our ancestor) yet he, Sisson, (by his own admission) makes most of his tin from selling supplements, including a a Primal Fuel Shake. Must have come in handy for Grok having those pre-made shakes!

I decided to start testing my blood glucose levels around dinner today to start testing n=1.

After 15g of carbs today it was 3.8mmol/L before dinner, 4.5mmol/L 30min after and 3.5mmol/L 2hours after. I had some veggie soup, butter, sardines and some grated parmesan for dinner.

I'll take my FBS in the morning but I'm still not to sure what it all means. From what I have read, these values are good but would like to know how it compares to those of you who do check blood sugar. (I understand that the post meal reading is relative...)

Cullinan Trailseeker is going to hurt tomorrow. I've got zero power in the legs so it's going to be a casual ride for a change.

Great readings, so well "within spec".

See what happens if you e.g. eat bread. Once BG goes above 5.5 you are approaching the "danger zone".

Also have an HbA1c blood test done - it will give you a view of your average BG for about the last 3 months.

From just looking at your numbers though, you seem to be healthy - but there was probably nothing in anything that you ate that would "test" your insulin response.

Now that you can measure your BG, you can manage it - and you will soon see what your daily carb limit is by watching and getting to know those numbers !

Helpmytrap, please post regular findings of what happens to your blood glucose after eating certain foods & after various activities, I'd personally find that interesting.

Especially if someone else, who is maybe more carb resistant, posts their numbers too (of their responses to the same foods) to see how differently their body responds.

Yes I know, I can be a bit of an anorak.

I know this isnt a psychology forum BUT I need some help. I have been wanting to ditch exercise for a few weeks now - I am SO not interested, I hate the constant fight with myself to go out there and do something (ANYTHING) and I am even more angry when I dont go. I mean, we ALL know, even 20 minutes of HIIT is good enough.

I am wanting to simply take a break for a month or 2 but fear the proverbial - fat and unfit...??? Is this just feeling sorry for myself and acting like i dont have Sub A??

Been there?

Have you been eating enough, or why the feeling? If your daily caloric intake is in constant deficit your body simply won't want to exercise.

Else, is there not some other type of exercise you can try? Variety is the spice of life.

Other than that, I'd you really want to take a break, with a proper LCHF diet you shouldn't pick up weight even if stationary
