Just been speaking to some pro mates of mine and this seems kinda irregular. Not one of them has ever been asked to produce ID unless it's an out-of-comp test.

Hats off for posting and admitting that it was you, especially on a place like thehub, having said that though, at the end of the day its still cheating and you need to accept the punishment, reading your posts it seems you understand this which is possibly more admirable than your confession.

 

I've always been extremely passionate about cycling, I raced provincially as a youngster and was very competitive finishing on the podium in almost every race, I gave up the sport that I loved at age 17 and didn't touch a bike again until 4 years ago when I decided to take up the sport again.

 

I came back as an average cyclist racing in the licensed vets category and generally just finish in the bunch in most races, I can tell you one thing, vets racing probably has the highest rate of performance enhancing abuse in the sport, racing is hard and it’s not uncommon to see erratic results, its difficult to ride as a clean rider when a lot of riders in the bunch are on something and a lot of the clean riders are thinking about doping especially when you’re riding so hard that you’re seeing starts and tasting blood but they don’t and there are still a lot of riders riding only on talent and still putting the dopers away, that to me is impressive, not someone getting a result because he’s cheated and lets face facts here, doping in a sport where its not paying your bills is all about ego, the health risks associated with doping are serious so I think it’s truly moronic for an amateur to dope!

 

I have never and will never dope and proud of it.

Noted, and accepted. Tho as you'll see from my post, the doping I did was not for cycling, and certainly not to help me towards that Epic placing. It should not have been done, or at least the fact that it had been done should have been a consideration on my part before entering the event.
