Was reading a few pages back, why would Morewood supply those Shova's with 57mm travel shocks when they know they need 50mm?

Mine runs a Rp23, super plush

Where is the Lyrik going to after the Marzo is fitted?

Going to keep it for a while until I am sure the 66 is the right choice or don't have any further issues...

On an enduro type bike if you were almost between sizes how would it affect the handling if you went from a large to medium?

And is it possible to convert 9mm Qr at the back into some kind of bolt thru or similar, have to really crank my Qr to stop it moving when doing jumps, esp if you land skew, have had the Qr pull to the side a few times, seems sketchy.

I ran a grinded down(only where it fists into frame) 12mm bolt in my QR, with my 12mm nukeproof hub. But QR is not supposed to be moving at all, even on big drops... maybe the dropouts itself has warn out.

I would go for the larger bike and fit a shorter stem (if possible). A short stem and wide bar improves the handling.

The larger frame will have a slightly longer wheelbase, which will improve stability on fast straight descends, but the longer wheelbase might affect manoeuvrability as well( so you need to decide which way you want to compromise).

Superstar components makes a 10mm thru-bolt quick release, and Hope makes 10mm end caps for their hubs.

I am also the in between sizes of bikes Medium or Large. I have always gone the medium route and always feel a little cramped. Next bike frame will more than likely be a large with a nice and short stem.

The only boys that make a medium that actually fits me well with a 60mm stem is the on one boys. Both the 26er and the 29er frames just feel right. The on one boys though have always designed around a long top tube and shorter stays. .....pretty much the route of the modern bikes these days.

Anyone keen on a medium MOTO frame. .... In no hurry to sell....But if there is a serious buyer I could it rather would sell and then shop around for a large something or other while riding my on one awesome fitting bike.

Have a short Hope stem 40mm high rise one, made a good change from a 100mm Thomson stem. I have a Thomson layback Seatpost facing forward because I don't like hunching over the bars, I like riding as upright as possible like a cruiser, probably taking it a bit far but it works, bike size feels good though as it is currently setup, the Shova has a pretty laid back seat tube as it is, not sure if that's affecting things a bit. Would a medium get me more upright, suppose that's why I am thinking of going medium, what will a medium do to my chosen ergonomics?

A medium would probably drop the bars lower(but the fork length will stay the same so that sounds faulty) but slightly closer in relation to the same Seatpost height in a large?

I'm 6'1" with 740mm bars, wide bars don't help with being more upright as they pull you forward, can't go much narrower than than 740 though.

That superstar 10mm QR looks good and is cheap!

Will it fit in a hope hub in a Shova frame, assuming I just need the end caps as mentioned, easy swop?

My current Qr is a brand new hope one, to make it tight enough it seems you need like a pry bar to open it, dropouts are still good don't look overly worn, most of you guys running normal Qr or bolt thru's?

I really reckon if you are planning on getting air above a feet or 3 normal Qr is not ideal, well it's fine if you always land smoothly but anything sketchy is not good, I want confidence that the back wheel is on lock down, ideally with a big nut on either side no QR bullsh1te.

remember the pressure is not on the QR itself, but on that "shoulder" bit of the hub, which is a bit thicker than the QR. Ive done plenty of flat drops from shoulder height on a hardtail with a QR, never had anything like that happen to me. I weigh about a 100kg on a good day.

Can also be the over-tightening that may be the problem, as the "tighness" is not what is suppose to keep the wheel straight.

Something definitely sounds wrong with your Qr setup.

Check that the axle part that sits within the slot of the dropout isnt too long and that there is a gap between the ends of the Qr nut and release mechanism when tightened down in the frame.

Let us know if you get it fixed
