Stem and bars aren't oem, and I see that previous owner fitted a 1x10 setup as well.

The rest is std.

CB Cobalt 3 wheels look the business, but always thought they were more XC, rear rim is buggered and will need to be replaced.

Thanks for the input, looks like its the kind of bike I was looking for. Most of my bikes are GT and I like the way they ride. (GT Speed Series 24" and GT Zaskar 9r carbon Pro)

I might take you up on that, need to read up on what the guys are running on theirs, I think it was around that.

PM me with a price please.

Thanks for this Nigel, Im pretty stoked at picking it up for R9000, I was preparing myself to bleed on this venture!

Running a 50mm Hope on my 9r, as someone mentioned recently about the M/L size issue, I am the same, the L 9r Zaskar feels huge, and was remedied with the shorter stem, but the Force is a M...

I hope its not going to feel too cramped. (dropped it off at LBS for a full run through, and to get rid of white bits)

Cant wait to take her out this weekend

Have a look through this thread. Plenty guys using the offset mountings to slacken head angle and drop BB height

Some guys also short stroking their bikes (165mm shock instead of 190mm)

Thanks dude, yeah I've read up on the different methods, but I don't like the idea of losing that travel.

So... does anyone on the Hub run Banshees, Knollys or NS Bikes? I'd love to see one in the flesh and hear how they ride.

Whilst discussing head angles, another option (if your frame allows it) is Burgtec Offset shock mounting hardware.

However you need to keep in mind that this will lower your bb and the rear wheel will come closer to the seat tube a the end of the travel. Effective travel remains the same, but depending on the leverage ratio of the bike it can for example sit 10mm into its "old travel" at 0mm and it can go 10mm beyond its "old travel" at full stroke.

Those cammed axles are clever awesomeness! Wouldn't mind a set to fiddle with, how many degrees of slackness can it tweak? I'm assuming the shorter your shock is the more effective they are?

Hey before you start playing with offset shock bushing first get your QR axle issue sorted :whistling:

Ja, tightened the Qr up as tight as my skinny arms will allow and seems fine still a nut and bolt would be better.

Those cammed axles seem like incredible value for money? Currently 36 pounds for a set , which incl du bushings for the eyelets, bargain man

That is very short indeed.

I would have thought a 185mm would be sufficient.

Was actually considering something similar, but opposite:

Was thinking if I can get my hands on a Zula (again) I would like to try fitting a longer shock with more shaft length to increase the travel.

This will either require some frame alterration or one of those "tri-bolt" plates to be able to fit the shock in there.

Would be really kick ass to have a Zula with about 120mm of travel F & R

This thread rocks...

Love the bike I see here!

I want to add my own bike here, but I still gotta get the right one.

So where can I get what in SA? in the enduro / all mountain category? and I know your going to shoot me down, but would love a 650b.

I really like the Bergamount Threesome... yes I know, the name rocks... but it seems to have a good base to start with. Price is right, components OK, and frame is close to what I want, etc...

Put on a dropper post, ride till I can upgrade the brakes... then it should be good.

Nice bike. and nice price. Looks like there's competition for the Trance. Now... if only the other bike companies come to the party and lower their prices, wouldn't that be great?

I don't think you would need to change those brakes, Deore brakes are supposed to be very good? SLX, XT and Deore are the same afaik, just minor weight differences and also different finishes.

what you can do when the Force is with you! hahaha

The force is strong with this one :D

Its nice to see the bike can take hits!

(Unlike my CRF250 which I have just found copper filings in the oil filter...)

How would short stroking a bike help?

Wouldn't it be better to just get a more tweak able shock?

EDIT. Oops I see guys are trying to get a slacker headset angle but isn't that taking it a bit far to reduce the travel to achieve that?

So here is my old lumpstumbler.

out of her granny clothes and into something a little more suitable.

Additions

Command post dropper post

N/W chainring

Revelation RLT

Short stem (Actually going to replace that as i dont like this ones colour)

Significantly wider bars

Flats

Geax Saguaro rear tyre

Geaz Mezcal front tyre

Still to be replaced

Deraileur (one with a clutch)

Rims (Maybe spank or deity)

wrap the chainstay in rubber (keep meaning to do this)

Changing from the fox F120rl to the revelation was the best move i could have done. It has slackened the head angle to about 66.5 degrees and raised the BB slightly. Vast improvement in terms of handling and fun!post-19172-0-19056400-1395918799_thumb.jpg
