Nice, mine's fitted, but waiting for 2omm hub. The hub I currently have has some play in, so dont want to go out bashing just yet.

Even though the two step doesnt get good right-up, I really like the feel, feels as plush as my fox40

Have a good look at the ratios. With the 42T cassette it's not that bad.

I've ridden a 34T XX1 setup on a 650B PYGA in Cascades and coped just fine.

Running 1x10 36T - 11/36 on my XC Niner and its great.

About to change the PYGA to 1x10 34T 11/36.

Evobikes have started bringing in a interesting item recently which converts a 11/36 SRAM cassette to 40T (replacement sprockets for the upper section of the cassette). This gets you many easier ratios on a 1x10 setup, closer to the XX1.

Not quite as simple, you need a road cassette, which will give the spread of ratios further down. The sprockets on the General Lee are 25-29-34-40

...you need a road cassette...

No you don't. The General Lee works with SRAM 1030/1050/1070 cassettes giving you the following comparative ratios:

- SRAM XX: 11-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-36

- SRAM XX1: 10-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-36-42

- SRAM 1070 with General Lee adapter: 11-12-14-16-18-21-25-29-34-40

Evobikes are bringing in the Leonardi Factor Racing converter which converts your 11/34 cassette (helluva road cassette that ;) ).

My bad, I'm sure I read that it needs a specific road cassette due to the spider setup (obviously not the case with "loose" sprocket cassettes)

WRT to 11/34 cassette on road bike - I need all the help I can get

Ah, understood. I can see how the road cassette would be required prior to being able to replace the top section of an MTB cassette.

Read the Shimano versions where becoming available.

Both of these options are pretty interesting. I wonder what the shifting is like on the replacement sprockets? Initially the reports were that they were a little clumsy. I'm sure that will (or already has) improved.
