the mind boggles

Yeah, I don't think I have any bars under 710mm on any of the bikes. Even the teenage daughter's.

When they said the naainer bars were "harder". Perhaps he meant harder to turn?? :P

Poped round a few bike shops looking for other bars...first I get told u don't get 710 wide bars......second 26er and naairer bars are diffrent the 9er bars are harder and a 16 rise is huge..

Sounds like those same people who ask if the brakes you're selling are for 26" or 29ers

Opinion pls...

Can I get some feedback on this bike, I want a second bike to ride enduro on...

I'd change the cockpit setup, but does anyone know anything about the ride/suspension system? I'm suspicious about Specialised'd in house shocks/brain etc...

How much travel is on that thing? 120mm?

looks like the old 120mm stumpy...

Yip the old Stumpy before it went 140mm ... a great riding bike though and that bike can do well on most of our trails still.....but jah, a little "old" now

120mm should be more than enough. But it all depends on how hard you ride.

Do you take drops from decent heights?

Do you get some sweet air over jumps and overshoot them half the time?

Do you mindlessly bomb down rock gardens?

If yes to the above questions, then 120mm might come short (as well as the wheels). But if you are like most of the riders on the trail, just getting stuck into technical singletracks and fast downhills, 120mm will be ample;)

Just upgraded my enduro ride from an old 2007 stumpy, such an awesome bike I am keeping it for XC rides.

Still has the original shock and no issues with it.

Yes its old and yes its only 120mm but it used to smash chicken runs like nobodys business on the DH track here in JHB!

OK so I could get it trimmed? Closest I get to bar spins is down at Peddlar's near closing time! But seriously, does anyone have any feedback on the bike.....I'm looking for something I can peddle uphill nicely and go down ST fast! Something I can take to France if I get the gap....(I know, I know, there's lifts in France but not here!)

You can't go wrong with this bike. It is very well specced and super cheap. To trim a cable down to size is a quick and easy job. Go for it. You won't be sorry.
