Shebeen Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Can I be skeptical here? 500 unpaid confirmed entries sounds like quite a lot for an entry of 2000, seems to me that they're lighting a match under a whole bunch of hype over nothing. Doesn't hurt to get the event sold out early when you're trying to hook a big sponsor (most of whom will already have closed their budgets for 2014 by now).

They are selling about 100 entries a day for an event that has never sold out. As it already stands this would be a record field. The previous sponsor actually paid a portion of the entry so technically this year is almost twice as expensive than last.
