too many variables.

1. New pods

2. New 510

updated 510 sw when i first plugged in.

vectors still on2.4. dropping power and cadence. me getting frustrated.

thought let me just try to reinstall firmware with new pods, firmware 2.6 available and updated.

after that, reinstall installation angles, and boom, no more power drops.

I really like the idea of power meter on multiple bikes, hence every things works smooth.

Redoing your FTP then? Must agree this is still the best option for multiple bikes with different groupset.

I've been considering taking the plunge from the Edge 500 to 510 to simplify matters. And this is where I got caught with Garmin (yet again). They pretty much enforce upgrades. I don't see no reason why they couldn't have made the 500 completely compatible with Vector. Of course the 500 works well enough but they exclude a few annoying little things.

Is it wortth getting this "half a PM" from Vector? Seems cheap but can it work? I'm talking about one pod/power on one side only.

Of course it works. It only gives you data from one leg though and then doubles it to give you a total power figure.

I own the full Garmin Vectors and would opt for Stages rather...

Is stages still the same? Measuring only on the left leg? At $699 it would be almost half price of Vector (half)

The local distrbutor for Stages will cost you about R10k dependng on the type crank arm you need. Carbon cranks aren't available though...

Still only left leg.

And I cycle on the SRM too.......and the stats are comparable.  So the left leg thing is imo just one of those "Don't go for our competitors cause they only do left leg" marketing gags.

I am very happy with mine over the past 9 months!

hi guys,Right side pod broke off ... yes accidentally

It is a dual set and out of warranty . No stock of that size in the country, so running up and down to all LBS to find one, But no luck sadly

Did the whole Navworld thing and they sending it to garmin for investigation but it will take a few weeks

My question is this? Can the single left side be made to work alone in the meantime . System keeps looking for its partner which is off to Garmin ?

I highly doubt it, otherwise shops would buy a set and then sell them separately and make a little extra dosh. There is probably no physical reason it would not work. Just software limitation.

Thanks, but to be clear i have both pedals, only one pod was sent off... So effectively only have one pod like the single power system

The data gets transmitted through the right side pod mate. Ie.: its the "brains" of the system so without it you wont get data.

You want me to send you a pod?

Good on them. Must say I had a serious gripe with the durability of these pods.

"Today Garmin has announced their next iteration of the Vector product line.  This relatively minor update aims to simplify installation, as well as make the unit more durable and easier to move between bikes.  Most notable however, is that original Vector owners can actually buy an upgrade kit to Vector2"
