Trans Baviaans 2013 - the right gear

Hi guys

Need some advice on gear for the Trans Baviaans please.

What type of jacket will be suitable for when it gets dark and cold?

Would something like this be suitable?

http://shop.craftsports.us/performance-bike-stretch-jacket-mens-43806.html

Or this

http://www.firstascent.co.za/shop/mens-renegade-cycle-jacket/

I'm sure its important to be warm, but surely don't have to dress as if I'm trying to summit Kilimanjaro!!! Would also be nice to able to use the jacket after Baviaans for normal cold winter morning rides.

Would also like to hear any thoughts on balaclava's/face/ear warmers? Is it necessary?

Cheers

My list was similar to Fabes; but the best thing is for you to go out at night in June/July for a good cpl of hours, a couple of times & judge for yourself what you'll need.

R999 for those tops? Don't waste your money.

If you search properly, you find kits (shirts and bibs) for around $35-40. R400 for a shirt and bibs. When last did you find bibs alone in the shops for under R600?

I just use Chinese clothing similar to that. The thermal tops are awesome. Lekker fluffy inside and plenty warm. When you are riding you heat yourself up lekker on the inside.
