Real MD (MBChB) here. Honestly such a super specialist area... Anything anyone but the specialist will advise you may do more harm than good. Pop your cardiologist a message. They'll want to get you back on the bike ASAP when safe. Best outcome they could hope for.

Understood Dr V. I just want to monitor fairly obvious items such as pauses in heart rate during or after exercise, and if i get lengthy ones during seep. I am not interested in keeping the Holter on nor can i afford to have a weekly check with the doc. Hopefully the report i get today will alleviate any concerns I have and it will all be a good sign forward.

I know this is an old thread. I got an ablation this week. After xrays and mri scan dr confirmed that I have athletes heart. Is it possible to go back to training and racing as before. I will rest for a while though. Got irregular heartbeat before ablation.

They put you on beta blockers?( which many cardiologist do after ablations ).

If yes you got no chance of training or racing.

As said before best give your cardiologist a call.

Not specifically related, but i have a low heart rate and seeing a doc about it as a general check. I am wearing Holter on for the next 5 days so they can check heart rate while sleeping, exercising etc. I also seem to have an occasional pause in my heart beating every 10 heart beats or so (after a treadmill run while on the ECG), the doctor was not overly concerned about it.

I would like to observe my heart rate myself using a HRM, probably wrist based.

Question, is there a HRM that allows you to see the raw data of the heart rate, i.e. heart beats on one axis and time on a second axis. I do not want to see the average heart rate as that does not give me any real information about what the heart is doing in that particular period. Is there a watch or brand that allows you to see the raw data and not just the average heart rate.

Don’t rush to have an angiogram, if they over do the pressure and your and your arteries are a bit brittle you could die. This happened to my dad. Things go wrong, have another option then seriously consider. Avoid anything with the word “Diary” for two weeks and see !

I was on Calcium channel blockers before ablation.

Was on beta blockers for only 3 weeks after ablation (doctor's orders).

Going for a check up in 2 weeks time.

Took 6 weeks off after ablation and started very slowly riding again.

Feel much better already.

Still a bit scared to push it harder.

Will hear what doctor say when I see him again.
