Read some of the reviews, those things are practically bomb proof!

Check out the video on www.citec.de - two Pro riders do the nasty on some Ascender S Alu wheels. Sure sure they do it on the mini 26" wheels but you get the freeriding jist :-)

Thats why they have a no spoke break guarantee.

I love these wheels. I import them because I'm passionate about them and believe in them.

One day, yes one day :whistling:

You and your weird Lefty brigade. It takes some time to machine up some Lefty hubs.

Soon I promise!!!!

In the mean time...please have another look at the drool material.

your first post is rather comprehensive, but incomplete without some pricing guidelines. via PM is tedious, and you'll get dialogue irrespective. PMs dont guarantee sales.

Forgive the lack of research on my behalf

WRT the spokes, what make of spokes do they use and what exactly does the "No spoke break guarantee" mean?

My set did their maiden race a few weeks back... the Magalies Monster. I think the majority of people know how rough that race is and quite a few hubbers know my style of riding, Rouxtjie knows very well.

I gave my set a good hammering at the Monster, I did have moments where I thought, here comes *** and a broken wheel but they survived

They are still as true as when they were put on, they are fantastic wheels!!

Monster is a wheel breaker...it can survive that, it can survive anything...My brother in law's AM classics looks like someone took a hammer to the rim.

Just buy them. Think of all the money you will save by not going on a drinking binge!

Wheels are cheaper than most drinking binges Tevez

True story...

Clearly you don't understand that I drink like a girl...

WRT the spokes, what make of spokes do they use and what exactly does the "No spoke break guarantee" mean?

The secret is not in the spokes - it's in the way the spokes are connected to the rim.

The spokes are straight and threaded on both sides. The spoke is connected to the rim via an aluminium sleeve (called a PowerBlock). The straight spoke means fewer stress raisers (like J-hook spokes or headed spokes) - the aluminium sleeve means that any movement occurs between the sleeve and the rim/hub rather than between spoke and rim/hub.

The no spoke break guarantee means if you break a spoke we fix it - free of charge. The length of the guarantee depends on wheel and varies between 2 and 5 years.

Or from the horses mouth:

Power Block System

PATENTED TECHNOLOGY AGAINST SPOKE BREAKAGE

http://citec.de/site/p-block.gif

CITEC system wheels use straight pull spokes which are fixed to the hub using our patented 'POWER-BLOCK' sleeve technology.

This design eliminates the common weak spot in wheels. Neither is movement between the hub and spoke possible nor is there a spoke head to fail.

Even under constant use spoke failure is a thing of the past and it is no longer necessary to keep re-tensioning and re-centering the wheel.

We offer a 5 year guarantee against broken spokes on all CITEC system wheels that are equipped with the CITEC Power Block System. For more information, see the menu item "Conditions of guarantee".

Power Block Nipples

PATENTED TECHNOLOGY AGAINST SPOKE BREAKAGE

http://citec.de/site/p-block.gif

Internal aluminium nipples, constructed along the lines of our Power-Block hub sleeves, support the spoke. This reduces stress on the spoke where it enters the rim and again reduces the likelihood of a spoke breaking.

Concave System

PATENTED RIM TECHNOLOGY

http://citec.de/site/concave.gif

The CITEC Concave System is an innovative, patented rim construction method.

It allows a decrease of weight while at the same time increasing the resilience of the rim.

This new development, comparable to the arch of a bridge, allows us to reduce the spoke number in the wheel without compromising the integrity of the rim base.

The forces acting on the rim are directed away. This guarantees long term strength and maximum resilience while saving weight at the rim, reducing rotating mass.
