Would love to be part of Dikwiel Kommando. Is this a panniers and camping or lightweight bikepacking and BnB kindof trip?

Panniers (if they don't fall off) and camping for me.

More Wood's panniers fell of three times within the first km of our trip in the Drakensberg last year. Some choice language was heard that day. The bikes get pretty heavy fully laden...for riding no problem, for hiking up die Leer perhaps not so fun

Panniers no, not up Die Leer unless you are happy to make 2 trips.

Frame packs, backpacks and minimalist

I can laugh about it now...really did not find it amusing at that stage.

As you please. The ethic of the DWK dictates lightweight, mobility, low cost and fun. Closely allied to Fiforiders (as in fit in or forkoff).

you can only come if you bring your single speed

Use of the singular speeded bicycling machine gets you instant rank in the DWK.

Guys if Johann is offering to help with some logistics you are halfway there - don't let that offer go lightly. He will look after you when you enter and leave his Principality. Take my word.

As an example we did a relatively cheep cheep trip a couple of weeks back - Sorry Johann I would have asked permission if I was your side of the Gamka - but for this side we needed Fox's blessing.

Just do it guys!

Oh dear. What do I use then? Huge back-pack? I can bolt my pannier onto the rack?

Have to forgo my badge then.

The trip from Prince Albert sounds good but I personally am wanting to start in PMB. Will possible end off at Prince Albert and then go over the Swartberg to Oudtshoorn and catch a bus back to PTA. Anyone interested in this option?

I must state this very clearly upfront...

The DWK is a totally non-race-ist organisation. Never was never will be.

Depending on timing, I am in

Well then I will remain a Troep as I will be bringing 27 gears with me.

OK guys, stop messing about..... ;)

Catch the train from Cape Town to Prince Albert Road. (If it's too late, you can be collected and taken the 45km to Prince Albert.)

Then ride back to Cape Town via the Swartberg Pass, Gamkaskloof, Die Leer, Rouxpos, Anysberg, Montagu, etc.........

Come on, you know you'll enjoy it.

Just do it :)

when?

next autumn?
