Returned back home last night from an awesome 3 days of riding. Yup the mud was ***, and the Cape has a few climbs hey, but all in all a great race - zero mechanicals, zero punctures - did brakes on Friday night as a precaution, but probably could have lasted through till Sunday. I suspect the race boys might have some fun in the ruts we left though - especially on day2. And is anyone else wondering just how pissed off Oom Piet must have been to haul a wagon up that bloody cliff????? And that was the route they thought was the easiest????

Whata stage, absolutely amazing. Single track and bridges out of this world. Flipping hell. Heat not so bad compared to yesterday, we started in A batch today. Had an issue with my SS lost a chainring bolt and could only fasten 2 others. The 3rd stayed loose for the next 30kms. Pushed my partner like hell the last 10kms. Loved it!!

How lekker was that whole section after the last water point? The single track (Thandi I think), the section through Kromco packaging and then Oak Valley - bloody amazing after the muddy trails higher up.

No.

But I have a mate who still in intensive care after having his spleen removed in an op after falling sun.

Was incorrectly diagnosed with broken ribs..nearly died that evening from internal bleeding before they performed emergency op.

MRI scan, he passed out a couple of times that evening, after having told Dr he doesn't feel right. Dr assured him it definitely only broken ribs, and maybe a bruised ego...
