Rather spend R1K on a Dremmel and all its goodies.

 

I built a valve-core remover out of an old screwdriver and it works perfect and much better than any store bought ones.

 

I also changed an old long nose plier into a chain link tool for a fraction of the price of BBB one. I bought the BBB one to see if it was better, should have given that R200 to a bergie.

 

I like going Ghetto as it teaches you how to fix your bike using what you have.

Headset/BB/Bearing press

Yes I've used it on my external cups on the OnOne. And the internal bearings of all my Chinese frames although they just need to be popped in.

 

I've also installed BB30 bearings using this.

i thought of doing this but i'm concerned about how strong the spanner will be after grinding

 

It is still very stiff. Just dont grind it too flat, just big enough to go onto the cone. and like flowta says,it doesnt need to be very strong for the cones.

Made one from prototyping plastic

 

You just warm the plastic up, make a shape, use the plastic crank thingy as a mould, done
