Crown race setting tool.

 

Its a pvc pipe with the tape to prevent it from splitting

Tjoepless kit : Duct tape, Stanley knife, Measuring tape, valves from old tjoeps and some Stans

Very good tips here. I have a no no. Don't be idle and use a Dremel on a gear cable inner - leads to quick unwinding stupid! Should have taken those three steps to get the side cutters!

Use the dremel for outers, works great.

Not a DIY tool, but an alternative to "brand name" and "bicycle specific versions"

 

Paid R82-00 for this cable cutter. It is marked as a wire rope cutter in the T&A catalogue. Works like a dream.

Use a pencil butane torch and heat a very small section of the cable you need to cut red hot, let it cool. You can then cut with a normal side cutter.

You can get duco pens but I've never seen one here.

I had one a few years back that I used to touch up my SBK fairings with after track days. Can't remember where I got it.
