jissis Haga was a demon!

Met him on a few occasions, my family has always been into Yamahas. We bought the first R1 and R6s that came to SA, we got the privilege of being VIPs during WSBK weekends at Kyalami.

Best one was the first race that Haga had on the R7, that bike was such a wow factor. Was a sad weekend though as that was the same weekend that Brett passed away.

He was and is still one of my favourite riders off all time.

Rossi, Haga, Bayliss and Rainey are probably my top 4

Nitro Nori. That no 41 caused fear and trembling in many a competitors heart.

He could slide/backwheel drift that YZF750SP Yammie into a corner like no one else could.

good god man, those are some awesome stories. I remember the R7, I could never understand why it didnt sell better as it essentially was a homoligisation of the race bike. It coincided with the ZX7R (I owned a ZX7...) Having said that, thats just about the time the rules changed to allow larger capacity V-twins to compete against the 4 cylinder bikes which paved the way for Ducatis of course with their 916, 996 and later the 1098 bikes.
