ok guys, is this race worse than the magalies monster or not??
not as bad, something about the monster that just makes it tough. I would say it's tough but less rocks in the end than the magalies and the trails are way more fun.

Ha Ha well you rode 5 min with me, but seems the GF and Duncan had a blast riding with you. Oh and thanx for that beer kit you presented me with when i won the raffle at the warthogs brew festival back in about 2002. Has come in handy. Small world.....

I know, utterly bizarre how small the world can be! So pleased to hear you're still brewing as well, more than I can say for my brewery, which by the way is tucked away at www.chezwallis.com/pensans/

I hope your right. I did the monster, but it was not pretty. Don't mind the challenge but have just come off a winter break so I don't think I'm as fit as I was then.

Where is that kloof? might even be tempted to take a dip!

Is the marathon route going to be 'roughly' the same?

This kloof forms the feature of the new section of the route.

The marathon route will be very similar to that of 2012, except that the very rocky descent after the Satellite Station has been removed and replaced by the new Kloof section.

Like your thinking!

Must be down the valley from the radio telescope dish

Think the kloof will be great. Something different!

Just hope there will be no bottlenecks. Especially if there will be a floating bridge involved. That pond looks quite deep and the water early in Sept will not be that hot.

Never had those at VG before, Erik's brings the different distances home on different routes...problem solved.

The field is thinned out by then, at least amongst the rear of the race. The descent that is no more was real scary, I walked it the twice I have done the race.

Joublixem sorts that out if there were any chance of congestion.
