entered first. We planning to join a bunch of guys and cycle from vic falls to ct in 2 weeks.

Rest the saturday and then do the race on sunday.

Saw an event like that on the TV last year and it looked awesome. That is up on 'the list' for sure. Stoked for you and V.jealous.

---------

3:30 on the dot last year. Hoping for a 3 this year with some proper training leading in. Did most of the rides last year then for many reasons didn't get on a bike for the month before and suffered my way around the coast. PPP.

Just picked up my New PPA number and for some reason between finishing up my season last year, not racing (not that there were any races bar the Knysna) and now... I've managed to drop 2 groups. That sucks.

My son and I will go for 4h45 in the Argus. We did the 44km Burger last year together in 2h02, so this year we will target the 92km and hope for a 4h10 - 4h20. All depending on the conditions on the day though.

And of course we will do lots of climbs to the Pump Station to get our legs sorted.

Yes, I think that's achievable for someone his age, especially if you can get him to slipstream you effectively and you don't mind pulling. You can also clear the way for him through the crowds and make it a lot safer. It should be fun for him, though, so make sure he's fit enough and don't let it become too serious a challenge. Also, be prepared to change plan on the day if the weather is bad, very hot or windy. Then rather just ride to finish and forget about the time goal.

Yeah hoping so myself, the Cape Town wind and an average seeding cost me my sub three this year but 2014 awaits

People will definitely be selling their entries nearer the time and if all else fails, sign up with a charity group such as Paige Project and although you will start in the charity start groups and not the seeded groups, at least you will be there.

if you get a charity entry, you can still start in your SV group

I have to agree that as a Joburger I'm not used to wind, I recently did training in Holland and although the biggest hill I wrote was a bridge over a motorway, the North Sea wind had me feeling like I was cycling backwards at times.

Anyway, back to topic, The Argus!!!

Ride for more than a time.. that's why I'm riding for Afrika Tikkun and a 3hr time. You get to keep your seeding / start time, 100 places secured and available.

mail events@afrikatikkun.org for details and they'll sort it all out.
