That is a a killer set up. Managed to get a ride with the Di2 new ultegra recently. That is good, very good and even the guy at bespoke said they'd go that over the Dura version for pound for pound value and return.

Gotta love Look as well. Class.

How much of a difference is there between 6700 and 6800, or is the 6800 just 11 speed? (Specifically the shifters)

I'm looking to upgrade my 7800 STIs to the Ultegra 6700s.

edit: Hijack On..

I suppose the other question is, is the 6700 pull ratio on the gears and brakes the same as the 7800 DAs?

Hi Gummy,

You have a lovely bike there. I got myself a new Cannondale in January with a compact crank but just not get used to it. Replaced it with a standard crank six months later and now I am really enjoying my new bike. But to each his own - enjoy what suits you.

Sarge.

How is the grip on the shifters? DA 7800 was crap, hated it, I rode Campy in that era. DA 7900 was better, had Di2 on my last bike, but grip ergonomics still behind Campy and Sram, shifter body was too narrow imo, Im hoping they refined it a bit for 11 speed. The rest of the gruppo is superb, bike looks fantastic. Crank styling is not to my taste, but it is a super crank by all accounts, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there are many alternatives for those who want a more conservative look.

The gear shifting is a little smoother than the 6700 and it now has a solid clunk when you shift down.

The pull ratio is different on the brakes and you have to pull really hard to get the brakes to bite in.I ride the DA shifters with a 5700 105 group on my alu bike.

The gears work perfect.

I live in a Valley and to go anywhere i have to climb one of 3 hills. The easiest is 2.4km long with a 6% avg gradient. There is a 400m section that is 17%.

I need that compact crank. :)

The ergonomics are way better on the new shifters.Did a 32km ride this morning and they are very comfortable.Size is very similar to SRAM levers now.

The blades of the brakes are also wider and flatter so they don't hurt your fingers when pulling hard on long descents.

I am not a fan of the looks of that crank but it's practical. You can ride it with a 53X39,50X34,52X36,46X36 and just change the rings and not the crank.

After this mornings ride i realized that the 34 is very easy.I may look at trying a 36X52 after winter.
