How do your guys protect the paint on your bike if at all? I have heard of some guys using 'Mr Min' but sure if it will cause more damage than protecting the paint. Apparantly it also makes for an easier cleaning session next time round .... :-)

Powasol makes a polish that doesn't smell like lavender....mr min comes in all kinds of smells which puts me off. And yes the grime doesn't stick to the frame, it washes off much easier next time.

But I don't do it, now and again I scoop some from my neighbour...

Oh and here is a pearl

Go to linux yamaha on malibongwe and ask for a roll of raceface protection. It this thickish tape that you can cut into any shape or form and you get 10m of it, so enough for you and everyone else's bikes. cost 200 bucks

I ride a mid range 30k bike, and keep it clean, lubed, and fully serviceable. That's it.

If it gets a scratch, tough luck.

I ride for health and enjoyment, not for posing.

Agreed! as long as my bike is mechanically sound I'm not to bothered about scratches, in fact I think it adds character.

Mr Min or some Dash works for me for cleaning. Both rear chainstays get wrapped with some old inner tubes and I just use some electrical tape where it looks likely that there may be some cable rub.

But ja, you can only do so much and then you have to accept it will get marks and scratches!

I think people are being a bit harsh here. It's a fair questions. I also am not worried if my bike gets nicks and scratches, but if there is something simple I can do help prevent that as well making the bike easier to clean, let the man know!
