I was using the crank on a alu ht with semi slicks.Will be changing to a 44 now though.

Received a shock when i saw what 2 XT blades and a set of brakes and discs will cost

 

So i am thinking of putting the old 9 speed XT on the wifes bike and building mine with full 10 Speed SLX.

 

I have been reading the SLX reviews and it seems very close to XT quality.

 

What you guys think?

Yes. Plus I think SLX has the edge in the looks department over the somewhat dowdy looking XT.

The lbs owner is smooth operator and gave me 40% off on his current XT stock......that's a better deal than 2014 SLX.

I do like the look of the SLX crank though.
