My mate had one of those, first full suspension bike I rode, felt like I was floating over the ground, loved it! Thought the price he paid brand new R1599, was a shed load of money for a bike...

Well, it seems to have aged well as it has a good "indicative market price". It has more than doubled in value over the years despite the wear and tear at 4500 raandts. :D

Not necessarily a total fail, but when did 80's road bikes start increasing in value to a point that you can ask for more than what they cost new back then, in not really great condition.

Actually the average price of bikes have dropped relatively over the years

My new Cannondale with Shimano 600 cost R3995,if I remember correctly,in 86 which was a moer of a lot of money in those days

My best is guys saying the bike is "a year old"

They get lank twitchy when you post a link showing their bike in the 2006 trek catalogue. Its so easy to work out what year a stock standard bike was made :)

One of our top Dowhill riders started with one of those, Johann Potgieter, he stays just down our road and his first upgrade on it was a proper handlebar and a different shock....
