Sharmein Lategan - killed whilst cycling in Pretoria East 17 Sept

With only 36 days to go to our tour, it is with great mourning that we are sad to announce the tragic death of one of our team members, Sharmein Lategan. She was killed tragically yesterday as she was busy cycling in the East of Pretoria. She was such a dedicated cyclist with a soft heart who could not even do harm to an ant! The reserved one in the team, yet her dedication and perseverance had an impact on all of us! Even though we are all nervous right now with so little time left, we will not stop our tour or our dedication, but rather we will dedicate this tour to our friend and teammate! This weekend we will all be wearing black mourning bands as we participate in our training camp and we challenge you to do the same! May your soul rest in peace, Sharmein, and may you rest in the arms of our Saviour!

Rip fellow cyclist, we really are doing this too much people. VERY SAD, I can't remember when last I opened the hub where we not giving condolences , it feels like its every week, very tragic . Be safe out there,

That is so sad - condolences to all friends, club members and family.

 

It is always terrible when we lose a fellow cyclist but being so close to home really hits hard.
