haha, thanks Luc. Don't worry, I got my revenge on you as I eventually passed you in a vehicle on the R44 heading back towards Stellies. You were alone toughing it out.. I was going to open the window and shout some 'encouragement' but decided you were maybe suffering enough.

Yeah my race ended long before then so sat up and enjoyed the ride and views. :)

You're confused with someone else, Big JD.

I dunno you.

The leaders of A batch came in at 02:42 and according to Racetec you came at almost 02:51. I was just interested as to how you lost so much time if you were with the leaders on the R44.

I guess you have a point to make, but not making it...

Your interest in my result or performance is strange. I dunno who you are. Did we meet during a training ride or something?

Heehee.

[A bunch winner clocked in at 2:43:24 or something. I rolled in about 7 and half minutes later.]

Not trying to make a point at all, you still have a good result. You are probably the most frequent poster on the Hub and it is usually regarding road racing. As we were discussing Burger tactics etc. I was just genuinely interested as to how you fell so far off the pace. A team mate of mine fought out the very close A batch finish, hence the interest. I read something about your knee earlier which perhaps explains it but you appear to have deleted the post.

All the seeding races in the Western Cape this year had angry weather gods:

99er, storm and tons of rain in the heart of Feb

Tonner, winds suitable for kitesurfing

Burger, potent Cape Doctor

This pattern is very worrying with the Argus coming up.

Not done Argus.

Did Knysna(80km mtb and reduced road race) this year and DC last year? I am new to cycling so despite one very bad 94.7 two years ago, Die Burger is only my 5th official road race if you include the 2 dc rides.

The Knysna mtb race would have counted quite a bit towards your seeding, as the 50km distance was a qualifier for Argus. Probably means the 80km has a fairly high weighting in the ratings system.

Nothing can beat the 2009 Argus. And for many the 2009 Argus they had their best overall result yet! Me included.

Yup! And I rode it with a broken arm in a plaster cast. They should have declared me the winner of the Jens medal!

It beta be high!

BETA, don't even get me started on how screwed up this is. Last year Burger was 0.98, when PPA re-seeded they changed it to 1.06 but kept the Argus as 1??? So, who knows what the Beta will be.

Burger 2012 = was 0.98 but then later changed to 1.06 (while great tailwind all the way home, perfect conditions)?

Burger 2011 = was very windy similar to this year and was only 0.94

Thinking probably around 1.

Anyone know why Johann Rabie rolled in two minutes early?

Did he manage to get away somewhere?
