'Dale Posted November 4, 2013 Share It'll be interesting and valuable to hear how the scam worked as it can inform any other folks out there. Sorrie, man. Hope you have insurance.
m2m2 Posted November 4, 2013 Share In Pretoria, but who knows, the guy could be from JoburgI had it advertised on The Hub, Junk Mail and OLX. No additional info that could help the case. The story is almost exactly as the article states (which I only found after).I released the bike because the funds had reflected in my account. kosmonooit Posted November 4, 2013 Share Any doubts about dodgy deposits? should give it a few working days to clear, its within your rights to do that.
urbanroyal Posted November 4, 2013 Share Hectic ...maybe when placing an ad ..some sort of notification or warning should pop up to inform you of potential scams...just a thought....
Harryn Posted November 4, 2013 Share Sjoe, you must be gutted; i feel for you. It emphasises that we just cannot be too careful when transacting. The bad news is that no insurer will pay out for losses of this nature, which arise out of fraud not theft. Maybe take pics of the bike to all the lbs's in your area, and ask them to keep a lookout.
