buycycle had an item priced pretty low due to a typo or something. I purchased 2 of them, and after they explained the error, they still honored the advertised price.

hats off to them!

CWC will NOT give you an item that is advertised for R0.00, I tried it once.

Isn't that technically illegal? Don't you have to sell at a price that something is officially advertised for under consumer regulations? Any consumer lawyers out there comment on the rule of offer and acceptance... I know it's like that in Aus ' and the UK. Price it wrong & you have to sell it.

I had that argument at a PnP recently with a fillet that was Priced @ R50 when the rest were waaay more. Explained the point and got the fillet. ;)

I've generally seen when the price is R0.00, then there is no 'Add to cart' button so you can't actually place the order online.

Yeah, always seen the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 [Act 68 of 2008] as 'Good idea' rather than LAW...

I remember being taught that an advertised price is merely an 'invitation to do business' and is not worth anything.....this was way before the CPA though.....

If I probably had battled with them to give me the item, I probably would have had the item now.

I didn't really put effort into the attempt.
