There's no freaking way I'm going wider on the bars, mine are losing 1cm either side tonight.

I'm one of those that fails to see why mtb bars need to wider than dirt bike bars, for what, to turn easier/quicker? Just TTFU and turn the bloody thing

Just upped mine to 780mm

ok all I have to compare with is my Anthem 29er. but The 2015 trance (pike'd) is a freakin trail monster. I have a feeling the anthem is gonna start gathering cobwebs.

174cm... I've run medium XC bikes for years but the sizing on the Trance is slightly different.

 

I'm border line and I'd prefer one or two small changes on a medium than riding a large and feeling the bike is too big for me.

The medium should fit you well.

Maybe time will tell, but i would suggest you try some 760mm bars as well

Having a very hard time deciding between the Trance & a Heckler.
