INFORMATION SNIPPET: (use it, dont use it)

As per previous post at http://www.thehubsa....14/page__st__96

Yesterday was a bit muddy and played havoc on equipment and kit. Bikes are clean but kit is still dirty, especially shoes, socks and shirts. Normal washing and washing machine does not seem to do the job satisfactorily?

Try using diluted combination of Clean Green and Sunlight liquid. Soak kit in it. Then make use of high pressure cleaner.....just make sure nozzle is set to spray (not jet stream). Wash kit easy-easy......

Cycle shirts have been through washing machine twice using Skip first, then Omo.....but those mud blotches on white is a bugger. SO likes white......shirt and shoes are hers.

Before and after pics (hope it helps someone who struggles with the cleaning)

That's all.....end of information snippet.

Thanks jis I have been struggling to clean my kit

The no water was because of drolle in front washed there bikes with it. They don't plan for that kind of stupid people.

You complain about walking 2km to your car but want to cycle 20km or 75km race?

The wash bay accounted for pre paid people and maybe some additional people then they had to go thru 1000+ bikes and you complain?

I agree on the routes merging at the end and slowing things down a bit. But if your not paid to race then just check your own time and work out time lost or whatever.

Don't get me wrong, the route was great, loved it and I was riding with a camelbak with plenty water, nutrition and tools to open a small workshop.

The problem is you had to ride 2km to the start/finish to the closest toilet, wait in a ques and then back and then back to the start again. Saw some nervous faces riding over those freshly cut "grassbolle" trying to hold everything in looking for toilets.

Also, not blaming the ladies at the wp and not complaining that there were no ice or a buffet lunches there, but the number one priority of any organizer is to always ensure there's plenty of water for every single rider.

People get upset, as you would expect, at someone like Advendurance who's been in the game long enough to have a near "perfect" score when it comes to organizing mtb events by now and then they still go and merge everyone at the end when they know from past experience that it upsets everyone from the slow riders to the fast riders.

I chose not to take a medal when I entered, but I knew there will be people who chose the same who would go and grab a medal and if Advendurance didn't have a system in place at the finish to control it there they will run out of medals. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. Perhaps they should include the medal in your race pack at registration, just a thought?

See this as the umpteenth time we provide constructive criticism once again or having a bash at Advendurance, but it seems that Advendurance is NOT learning from their previous mistakes and could have so easily prevented this. My 2 zim cents, take it or leave it, your choice.

I swore never to support Advendurance again after the disaster that was Down & Dirty in 2012 but I caved and entered Dullstroom 2014

I was in C-batch for the Half-marathon and completed the race in just of over 3-hours. I managed to get water at both the 10Km & 32Km water points

My official time is pretty close to what I recorded on Strava. There was some congestion where the groups merged but I was lucky enough not to get stuck behind any slow riders (Mot likely because I was one of them)

Pros:

- Ample parking

- Well stocked and staffed beer tent

- Beautiful scenery and challenging trail

- Warm showers

Cons:

- Not enough medals!

- Pre-ordered a Columbia buff – No stock

- 2 Friends ordered new boards when they entered the event. No boards where made and they had to queue for almost an hour to get boards made

I genuinely had a lot of fun and will be attending the event again in 2015, but I’m seriously annoyed about not getting my medal
