Lycra wearer

As for the bike, none of us will buy it, it really has to go to a collector with deep pockets.

Doesn't do anything for me to be honest.

The helmet on the other hand

My moral fibre gets ripped every day.... I have lycra wearing friends but I hate pedalling uphill. I would rather catch a shuttle up and ride down. I look really shyte in lycra so I wear baggies and loose shirts to hide my boep. I own a Garmin and a smart phone but have no need for Strava. I ride both cleats and flats. I take a Camelbak on shorts rides around the neighbourhood and I sometimes ride my trail bike on the beachfront....

I'm doomed :(

You should come live in Cape Town. No one cares.

Went on a "AM" ride with Trail & Tar at Jonkers yesterday.

flats, clips, 29, 650b, 26, baggies, lycra, shimano, avid, hope, fat, thin, fast, not so fast, pack, water bottle, carbon, ali, steel, strava, no strava. Everyone riding together. Everyone smiling great trails. Good times.

But Jonkers does that to people.

Similar for me.

I like to ride DH courses (the easy parts of them at least) on my 29er hardtail. Darnit, I even rode an enduro race/ride with it the other day. On the other hand, I've ridden my DH bike while wearing lycra (only once or twice, before anyone freaks out). Back in the day, I used to race DH with lycra, like we all did. I also own a singlespeed hipster bike with blue and green rims (yes, both colours) which I cruise around the neighbourhood on.

My name is Martin and I ride bikes. All of them.

Have to agree with you on that one. But that would go firmly into a glass box in my bar never to touch another head.

I once went into a sports memorabilia store in London and they had an Eddie Irvine F1 helmet for GBP 5500.00.

On GM. A good few South African sportsmen could learn a LOT from him about BMT and handling pressure.

Will probably end up in a glass case at the Blue Label offices. The Levy brothers have an impressive collection of sporting memorabilia there already.

(I still think the V10 would be waaaay sexier with a proper customised paint job instead of stickers).

Agreed. Given everything else, they could have put more effort into the decorations. R30k is a lot extra for stickers. The rest of the bike, though… functional art.

Awesome bike, but overpriced imo. Would far rather have the helmet!

As for Grebel, no. He doesn't have a lapa. He's got a braai area with a perilously low ceiling. It's a danger to everyone with a drink in their hands. Except his wife. It's just the right height for her.

Oh. And my names Myles. I wear lycra under my baggies, flats and a t shirt when I ride. And a full face helmet cos I like my face the way it is!
