I have lycra wearing friends but I hate pedalling uphill. I would rather catch a shuttle up and ride down. I look really shyte in lycra so I wear baggies and loose shirts to hide my boep. I own a Garmin and a smart phone but have no need for Strava. I ride both cleats and flats. I take a Camelbak on shorts rides around the neighbourhood and I sometimes ride my trail bike on the beachfront.... Went on a "AM" ride with Trail & Tar at Jonkers yesterday. flats, clips, 29, 650b, 26, baggies, lycra, shimano, avid, hope,fat, thin, fast, not so fast, pack, water bottle, carbon, ali, steel, strava, no strava. I like to ride DH courses (the easy parts of them at least) on my 29er hardtail. Darnit, I even rode an enduro race/ride with it the other day. On the other hand, I've ridden my DH bike while wearing lycra (only once or twice, before anyone freaks out). Back in the day, I used to race DH with lycra, like we all did. I also own a singlespeed hipster bike with blue and green rims (yes, both colours) which I cruise around the neighbourhood on. My name is Martin and I ride bikes. All of them. I once went into a sports memorabilia store in London and they had an Eddie Irvine F1 helmet for GBP 5500.00. On GM. A good few South African sportsmen could learn a LOT from him about BMT and handling pressure. Will probably end up in a glass case at the Blue Label offices.
