Durban - A 16-year-old boy is fighting for his life after hitting his head when he fell off his bicycle in Tongaat, KwaZulu-Natal, paramedics said on Sunday.

"The boy lost control down a hill and then fell hitting his head on the roadway," Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said in a statement.

Paramedics found the teenager lying on the ground just before 20:00 on Saturday.

They placed him on a ventilator and took him to hospital.

Sounds very serious.

News 24 and their stupid uninformative dumb journalism. I wish their boss would kick their arses to do a proper job, get the facts and write a story. This "tweet" of an article leaves more questions than answers! :cursing:

Vasbyt youngster, I pray that you make it and recover.

Checked the link it is working but the whole article is in the first post. so you not missing any additional info.

Can't open up the article for some reason but was the boy wearing a helmet..?

Helmet, no helmet is irrelevant to me.

Wishing the family all the best and the youngster a full recovery.

That is true.

Wont make a difference now and no point in going down the "what if" route either.

It just p*sses me off to the bone seeing fellow cyclist endangering their own lives.

The fact that it is law to wear a helmet on public roads, seems to bother them not!

I am amazed daily at how few people know this law.
